Good research, however…I live in a residential area, with kids I want to protect (we are not yet developed to teach them to go to park and play) and I know how our govts. “function”. I was googling for those ready made rubber speed bumps..anyway..do you think its a bad idea to want to protect kids?

I don’t mind if people are driving safe but in my colony, cabs and bikes are driving at 50-60kmph…hey I don’t have a highway there..

I think we must consciously avoid driving beyond 20-30Kmph in residential areas.. it will avoid noise pollution and enhance safety of the residents…

Yes the spead breakers in front of houses are very irritating. The people who lay them don’t have any civic sense. Speed breakers should only to reduce the speed of the vehicle. Their inclination and width should ensure smooth ride when driven slowly.

Here in Canada, we have matured and no longer require the fastest time, stoplight to stoplight, and have substituted this thrill for control enough to stay loaded until the point of maximum pleasure. This maturity is reflected in our ‘road racing’ laws. If we are caught exceeding the limit by a pre-set amount, the vehicle is impounded for a week – to teach us to hold it long enough to enjoy it!
